Philippians 1:27 ESV Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel,"
I'm reminded of Paul's words to the Church in Philipi. It's easy in our everyday walk to get caught up in negative thinking and be driven by frustration, annoyance, and anger. However, Paul is reminding us to keep our conduct worthy of Christ. Let our actions show what we believe. Live a life that is worthy of Christ's calling. This does not mean to continue living in sin but be sanctified in our actions. It does not mean to continue living in a way that blends in with worldly norms, but to be sanctified in our speech and conduct. At the end of this verse, he reminds us to strive side by side with one another for the faith of the gospel. Lift up your fellow church members and be there for each other.
James 2:26 "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also."
James reminds us that if we are not living as Christ calls us to, we are showing others that our Faith is dead. Walk in faith and live in a manner worthy of Christ. So, wherever you are, let's begin our week being renewed, setting our eyes on Christ, and living in a manner worthy of his calling.
